You could have a brilliant memory and not know it. Nelson Dellis didn’t know he had a fantastic memory until his grandmother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. He then Swore to take care of his mental health and aimed to be the champion. He increased his memory so much so that he is now 4th-time memory champion.
Nelson now works to help people better their memory. You too could have a brilliant memory and can be picked from the crowd to take part in further studies. Dart Neuroscience sponsored memory competitions before and is affiliated with Nelson Dellis. They are currently working on the project of the extreme memory challenge to pick people from the public who have extraordinary memories to take part in further studies. But for that, they need 1 million entries but are only and 14,000 complete entries. There are 2 parts to taking the challenge and most people stop after the first. The goal is to find those with a natural good memory. People with a naturally great memory are to send in their cheek swabs and their genome will be studied
Drug discovery isn't too far away, and they hope they can find a way to help with diseases like Parkinson's and Alzheimer's. They hope that this long process is fruitful and they find a way to treat this deteriorative diseases or leave everyone as a memory champion.
